Search engine marketing is a type of internet marketing that helps promote websites by increasing their visibility in the search engines such as Google Yahoo and MSN. Methods include search engine optimization, paid placement, and paid inclusion. The New York Times define search engine marketing as the practice of buying paid search listings. At the moment the largest search engine marketing vendors appear to be yahoo, Google, search marketing and Microsoft adcenter. Since 2006 this range of marketing has been increasing faster and faster, way faster than more traditional advertising methods and even faster than other channels of online marketing.
